PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS

It is with huge pleasure that the WASOG Presidential Committee celebrates the inaugural Indian WASOG meeting in Agra. The congress planning committee has put together an outstanding programme that includes topics covering the range of challenging clinical issues in sarcoidosis, interstitial lung disease and pulmonary vasculopathy. There is abundant content is the programme that will be of great interest to those practising in some or all of these areas, as well as cutting-edge clinical science. WASOG meetings have emerged as the major world-wide meeting devoted to sarcoidosis and interstitial lung disease, complementing the international ICLAF meetings devoted to basic and translational science. The organisers have created a congress that is in the finest tradition of WASOG meetings. Colleagues are urged to consider attending this meeting as it offers a unique learning experience. Those that have taken part in Indian symposia in recent years can attest to an Indian tradition of highly articulate presentations with an emphasis on provocative discussion. There is a great opportunity for all of us, speakers and audience alike, to learn a great deal from each other. We also stress to those that have not previously visited India that this is an experience not to be missed, with the possibility of extending the visit in order to sample the unparalleled cultural and culinary delights of this remarkable country.

It is with absolute delight that we welcome you to the World Association of Sarcoidosis and Other Granulomatous disorders (WASOG) annual meeting hosted for the first time in India at Taj Hotel & Convention Centre, Agra between November 14 - 17, 2024.

The WASOG Conference stands as a pinnacle in the realm of sarcoidosis and interstitial lung diseases (ILD), and we take immense pride in steering the helm of this prestigious gathering in 2024. Our goal is to provide a platform that fosters collaboration, learning and the exchange of cutting-edge knowledge.

Our scientific agenda will testify for our commitment to cover the breadth and depth of interstitial lung diseases. From diagnostic innovations in imaging techniques to the latest in pulmonary interventions which aid in diagnosis of sarcoidosis & ILDs, genetics, and genomic classifiers, and insights into pulmonary hypertension associated with these disorders, we aim to encapsulate the forefront of knowledge in this space. Moreover, we will explore the latest data on pharmacotherapy and discuss the potential future of disease management in ILD.

The competitive poster session will provide an excellent opportunity for researchers and experts like yourselves to showcase your work, receive valuable feedback, and contribute to the collective wisdom of our community. The satellite symposia will seamlessly integrate academic science with industry advancements, offering a holistic view of the ongoing developments in the field.

The meeting will culminate with hands-on workstations, where diverse ILD-related clinical learning tools will be explored and discussed, enriching the knowledge and practical skills of all participants. Throughout these four days, we have also organized engaging networking events, providing a platform to foster connections, share insights, and potentially forge collaborations with peers from around the world.
